FAQs

What are toxic metals?

Toxic metals (“heavy metals”) are metals that are not required for normal body functions and can have a negative impact on your health and well-being.

Why should I get tested?

An accumulation of toxic metals can lead to toxic metal poisoning which can have serious negative effects on your health. If you are experiencing negative health issues, getting tested can help determine if high levels of toxic metals could be the cause of certain symptoms.

How is someone exposed to toxic metals?

You can be exposed to toxic metals through food, water, air and commercially used products as well as activities such as smoking cigarettes. Industrial workplaces can increase your risk of exposure. Examples of these are lead which can be found in paint in old homes and cigarettes which have high levels of cadmium and others. All toxic metals can react differently in your body and come from various sources.
